1. Corcovado National Park and Caño Island Tours
A 50% deposit is required to confirm Corcovado National Park and Caño Island reservations. If the client cancels, this deposit is non-refundable because it may cover park entrance permits, commissions, taxes, reservations, and tour-organization costs.
Any amount paid above the required deposit will be refunded or retained according to the cancellation conditions stated in the booking confirmation and any applicable third-party booking-platform rules.
2. Other Tours: Client Cancellations
- Cancellation at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure: 100% refund of the amount paid.
- Cancellation more than 24 hours but less than 72 hours before departure: 50% refund of the amount paid.
- Cancellation 24 hours or less before departure: no refund.
- No-show or arrival too late to participate: no refund.
Refunds apply only to amounts paid directly to Coral Expeditions Costa Rica. Third-party booking platforms may process refunds under their own procedures and timelines.
3. Cancellation by Coral Expeditions Costa Rica
If Coral Expeditions Costa Rica cancels a tour because of unsafe weather or ocean conditions, natural phenomena, government or National Park restrictions, insufficient participation, mechanical problems, or another operational circumstance, the client will first be offered rescheduling, subject to availability.
If the client cannot participate on another available date, Coral Expeditions Costa Rica will issue a 100% refund of the amount paid directly to the Company for the cancelled tour.
The Company is not responsible for separate expenses paid to other providers, including transportation, accommodation, flights, meals, or vehicle rentals.
4. Rescheduling Requested by the Client
Requests to change a tour date are subject to availability, vessel capacity, National Park entrance availability, and operational feasibility. Additional charges may apply when new entrance permits, reservations, or other non-refundable third-party services must be purchased.
A request is not approved until the Company confirms the new date in writing.
5. Weather and Itinerary Changes
Rain alone does not necessarily require cancellation. The captain and Company personnel will determine whether an activity can operate safely based on weather, ocean conditions, official restrictions, and the characteristics of the tour.
Reasonable changes to routes, schedules, swimming or snorkeling locations, trails, or included activities do not automatically entitle the client to a refund when the principal tour can still be operated safely.
6. Wildlife Sightings
Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. No refund or repeat activity will be provided solely because a particular species is not observed.
7. How to Request a Cancellation or Change
Cancellation and rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing by email or WhatsApp and must include the reservation holder’s name, tour, and scheduled date.
Email: info@coralexpeditionscr.com
WhatsApp: +506 8401-7444
The time the written request is received by Coral Expeditions Costa Rica will be used to determine any applicable refund.
