Kayak Through Protected Mangroves
The tour begins in the village of Coronado, approximately 25 minutes south of our Uvita Beach operation center. Starting about 90 minutes before high tide, we paddle through calm tributaries while discovering more than five species of mangrove trees and learning about this remarkable wetland ecosystem.
Birdwatching and Wildlife
More than 300 bird species have been recorded in the Térraba–Sierpe wetlands. Possible sightings include herons, hawks, kingfishers, and other tropical birds, as well as monkeys, raccoons, crocodiles, caimans, and additional native wildlife.
Nature and Photography
Your bilingual guide helps position the kayaks for wildlife observation and photography while maintaining minimal environmental impact. Halfway through the tour, we pause among the mangroves for fresh fruit before continuing through the tranquil channels. Wildlife sightings vary naturally and cannot be guaranteed.
