Corcovado National Park Day Tour
The Corcovado National Park is the most visited place of the area. It is home to over 140 species of mammals, 120 species of reptiles, 6000 species of insects and over 400 kinds of birds. Besides, in this spectacular park, there are 500 species of trees and 150 species of orchids. That is why the National Geographic Magazine called it the most biologically intense place on Earth.
This is a full day tour from 07:00 a.m to 03:00 p.m approximately, leaving by boat from Uvita and heading to SanPedrillo station in Corcovado National Park.The boat ride has a duration of 1,5 hours approximately.
The tour consists of two hikes through primary and secondary forest, searching for wildlife that includes birds, monkeys , raccoons , coatis ,sloths , insects , learning about the tropical rainforest and on a lucky day you might spot tapirs. A picnic-style lunch will be served in between the two hikes at the park ranger station.
The boat starts heading back to Uvita around 1.40 pm and expect to arrive at 3.00 pm

Due to potential health risks, pregnant women and children under the age of six are advised not to take this tour.
The trails at Corcovado are flat and easy but it can be muddy in places during rainy months (May to November )and warm during the dry season ( December to April ) , with roots to avoid, but it is the rainforest after all. You will get wet, you will get muddy, you will sweat but it is part of the adventure .Boating can be bumpy during windy days or very smooth on calm days .
