Sierpe Wildlife Mangrove Tour
The Mangrove starts in the town of Sierpe, which is situated about 40 minutes south of Uvita.
During the tour, our boat will navigate the intricate channels of the Sierpe River, an area renowned for its rich biodiversity and frequent wildlife sightings. You can expect to see a wide array of fascinating creatures in their natural habitat.
Wildlife commonly spotted on our tours includes a multitude of bird species. We often encounter several types of herons, various flycatchers, kingfishers, owls, vibrant toucans, striking scarlet macaws, different species of hawks and falcons, elegant egrets, ibises, and numerous songbirds, among many others.
In addition to the diverse birdlife, we frequently observe three different species of monkeys: the white-faced capuchin, the loud howler monkey, and the small and agile titi monkey. Keep an eye out for various snake species, as well as the slow-moving sloths, curious raccoons, and nocturnal bats, along with other native mammals. You're also likely to see colorful frogs, various lizards and iguanas basking in the sun, and the impressive crocodiles and caimans inhabiting the waterways. Lucky observers might even spot turtles along the riverbanks or in the water.
